Ornithopods

Ornithopods were plant-eaters that could walk on two legs or four, with a horny beak and rows of grinding cheek teeth. They ranged from small runners like Hypsilophodon to Iguanodon, with its thumb spike, and the duck-billed hadrosaurs.

Hadrosaurs were some of the most common large animals of the Late Cretaceous. Many lived in herds, and some, like Parasaurolophus and Lambeosaurus, had hollow crests that may have made sounds. Nesting grounds of Maiasaura show that parents cared for their young.
