About Osmakasaurus
What it was like
Osmakasaurus was a plant eater related to Iguanodon, known from hip bones and parts of the backbone.
Its world
It lived in the Early Cretaceous in what is now South Dakota. Its bones come from the Lakota Formation, where the plant eater Dakotadon and the armored Hoplitosaurus also lived.
How it was found
Its bones were first described as a species of Camptosaurus. McDonald gave it its own genus in 2011. Its name comes from the Lakota language.
