About Dongyangopelta
What it was like
Dongyangopelta was a nodosaur, an armored plant eater, known from part of the hips, some ribs and pieces of armor. Its hips were covered by a shield of fused armor plates.
Its world
It lived in the Cretaceous in what is now eastern China. Its bones come from the Chaochuan Formation.
How it was found
Chen and colleagues named Dongyangopelta in 2013, from a single find.
