How to play
Type a dinosaur's name and pick it from the list. You can guess any dinosaur on the site, but the answer is always one of the best-known ones. Each guess is checked against the answer on six points: when it lived, its group, its diet, its length, where it was found and the year it was named.
Green means a match and yellow means close. Arrows show which way to go: the answer lived earlier or later, is bigger or smaller, or was named earlier or later. Each miss also unlocks a field clue, ending with a blurred photo.
A new dinosaur every day
The puzzle changes at midnight, your time, and everyone gets the same dinosaur. Your progress, win rate and streak are saved in this browser. Solve it to add the dinosaur to your fossil cards, then share your grid of colored squares without giving the answer away.
Stuck for a first guess? Tyrannosaurus rex or Stegosaurus split the field nicely: one is a Late Cretaceous meat-eater, the other a Late Jurassic plant-eater.
