About Ostromia
What it was like
Ostromia was a small feathered theropod, a relative of Anchiornis. It is known from part of a leg and arm.
How it was found
Foth and Rauhut named Ostromia in 2017. The fossil had long been thought to be a specimen of an early bird, until a closer look showed it was a different animal. The name honors the paleontologist who first saw that the fossil was not a flying reptile, as once thought.
